Seems Reasonable, But…

Written by Jim the Realtor

While we have seen some wild bidding wars lately (here’s one that sold for $655,000 over list), there are plenty of others that aren’t selling, for a variety of reasons.

But price will fix anything!

The ending is dramatic, a cliffhanger. The video has the sense of a built-up till the end, an anticipated revelation…but no. A picture of some structure with no explanation, open for speculations.

  2. BootyJuice

That wouldn’t be a problem for me. I’ll take a water tank over noisy neighbors or barking dogs any day.

  3. Jim the Realtor

Me too, but I’ve had buyers object to this location because of the tank.

It is a “visual distraction” in person.

  4. Susie

Once again, a classic JtR video. Mahalo, Jim, always enjoy ’em…

  5. Mrs. Davis

    Bravo! A classic.

  6. tj & the bear

Wow, like a tank is any kind of a nuisance.

  7. Bil in KC

Selling Real Estate isn’t always a tankless job.

  8. casanova

I wonder for how much would rent such a house?
Good find the house in Vancouver BC, it shows that the bubble is in full swing up in the white north. almost 3 million for a kind of townhouse in a dump place where it rains 300days per year. I guess people never learn.

Go plant $20k worth of big trees in front of that tank and bam, problem solved. Home sells for $30k more and you make your money back….more importantly, home sells.

casanova: zillow.com says it should rent for $1,988/mo. Re the tank: I like the extra street parking created by not having neighbors across the street.

How about painting a mural on the tank?

BTW, terrific finish Jim. Possibly the best dramatic reveal in all of your videos!

    I read your intro sentence:

(here’s one that sold for $655,000 over list)

…and I was thinking, who would ever pay $655k “over” list price! creative listing price $1.00

drought resistant, close to water source, priceless!

For a REO it looks like it is in good shape. The REOs we looked at earlier this year, in Calavera, were in beat up very badly.

This is the kind of home my in-laws would love to downsize into.

  14. Kardashianians

It could be worse like a stadium or industrial complex. Wonder how much noise and dust it generates from its maintenance and routine operation. If the market is hot it won’t have any problem selling. Pretty decent house for that price.

  15. Osidebuyer

Haha “baja Oceanside”. It is amazing how the prices instantly change at the south oside / north Carlsbad border there.

  16. Peter

Funny! Great timing. Hey, we need more ice-cream truck!

  17. RBRenter

But I bet the water pressure is good.

  18. AL

RBR: with the home close to the same elevation as the tank, the head pressure may not be very good. A friend lived next to a reservoir, in his case the supply went downhill to the street, went through his meter and came right back uphill to the house. The upstairs bathrooms did not work very well so a boost pump was added near his water meter.

Water tanks? You’d have to try really hard to find any at all.

p.s.: clearfund, love the tree idea!

  20. Jinx

It seems like it would be dark inside. The west is blocked by a 2-story and the south is taken up by the garage. That alone would make me skip it. Picky, I know.

Loved the video, this is why I tune in to JtR every day.

Through the whole video I kept wondering about the title but then of course it becomes clear in the closing seconds.

  22. Jeeman

    Tanks for the video.
