If REO’s were fixed-up I think that would be a big step in getting people buying and clearing inventory.

Sorry but I don’t see the point of spending too much to fix up. Personally I would rip most out to replace with something I like anyway after closing. I am more of the type getting a reasonable price reflecting the cost of fixing up.

RJ, the improvements aren’t for the benefit of the new owners. They’re there to sell the house. It’s all in the packaging.
Just avoid the excessive staging. It’s easier for new owners to visualize their new furniture arrangements in an empty house than in a cluttered one.
