Nice video Jim. Thanks for keeping the urban areas in the loop! We love our little slice of paradise over in north MH.

The metro area home are so interesting with all their history and charm plus the area is just seems so vibrant. I always associated this area by UCSD Med Center as Hillcrest.

Here is another nice one that just came on the market in prime North Park. The exterior and common rooms are awesome.

Yummy! The original areas look like they’re from the Bungalow-lover magazines. I’m actually a bit forgiving about the kitchens and the baths, especially since they kept it pretty simple and didn’t do the full travertine. I’ve done a bit of reading on old Bungalow kitchens, and back in the day, the preferred look was usually pretty clinical, almost hospital-like. There are more elaborate Bungalow kitchens (for instance in Pasadena), but the modern “Bungalow” kitchen is not that faithful to what people usually put in their houses.

I love that house so much, I’d sell a kidney to live in one like that.
My favorite place I’ve ever lived was in a 1929 flat that had many of the same features other than the crown moulding. It had coved ceilings instead. The kitchen had never been remodeled, it had an antique four legged gas Wedgewood stove/oven/trash burner that was a twin to this one http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Tr4inwrek/2011-09-24_222850_wedgewood004.jpg with a few minor differences in coloring.

It had the original cabinets with two large tin lined bins for flour storage and something else, I guess. All original hardware including door latches.

The floor was lino (no idea what might have been underneath it, but the countertops were white small hex tiles bordered with black tiles.

I loved that place and this house reminds me very much of it. It wouldn’t be that hard to fix the kitchen and batsh

Arts & Crafts. Pre 1030 for sure. Probably teens/preWW1. Gum wood (Eucalyptus) wood mouldings and cloud-lift details. The height of this construction style was right around and just before the 1915 exposition as San Diego real estate speculators went crazy trying to coax visitors to purchase in S. D.
