Funny you should have trucks at the end of this video, Jim! Remember my RV garage in my new house in Potato Land? You featured it back on 1/17/2011. Anyway, I rented out the space to a guy who has four classic cars. He just brought the last one over yesterday:

1965 Chevy (short bed) pickup truck with 93K miles, 3-speed shift (not on floor). I immediately thought of you when he drove it up!

It’s pale yellow, gray upholstery and in pristine shape (He had it repainted in the original color and added a thin red accent line around the cab). His dad was the 2nd owner. I’ll see if I can get a picture snapped tomorrow if he knows how to attach the pic to an email to you.

What’s sweet is the monthly rent is paying 20% of my PITI, and I still have the 2-car garage for my car & stuff.

It’s a sweet ride! He was nice enough to take me around the block in it. I was in heaven! He also has a 1957 Thunderbird but he’s storing that one at his own house…

Jim, why so stealthy in both houses? 🙂

Susie, thanks for the clue to finding Jim’s original post on your home. https://www.bubbleinfo.com/2011/01/17/potato-land/

I must admit while I remembered (in detail) your beautiful new home, I’d completely forgotten about the RV garage. I guess it’s a guy thing. Congrats on getting a car nut to pay part of your mortgage. My brother has a “barn” on his property to house his various cars and ATV’s/RV. I think it cost more to build than the original house and land. 😆

His pride and joy is a restored ’68 Charger, his wife has an unrestored 60’s convertible in the back of the barn. Someday, the economy will improve enough to give them more play money again…

    P.S. Loved the MCM.

Jim, why so stealthy in both houses?

There are three types of JtR videos:

    1. My listings.
    2. Other listings reviewed for my buyers, usually out-of-towners who don’t want to fly here just to see one house.
    3. Videos suited for the blog.

These two in this video were of the #2 variety.

  5. just sayin'

Did the Lexington listed for $1.75 sell for $1.55 (it looks like the one on Amberglades)? Solana Beach house is nice (love the styling) and the area is nice – but 2 bedrooms may be a deterrent (unless you can add on).

    Yes, Amberglades.

It was the original owner who sold it – she paid $884,000 in 2000.

Court records show her getting divorced in 2002, and since then her mortgage balance crept into the $900,000s due to refinancing. A classic example of who is selling these days.

That first house looks pretty nice inside, but yeah… wow. $1.75M for a tract house. I feel bad enough paying $0.5M for mine!

That second home looks perfect for some empty nesters to downgrade in style!

I love the SB house. It’s really great.
