There are two good reasons to do staging:

1) To ensure the online photos catch the buyer’s eye, and

2) Once they arrive, the staging helps to remove any visual distractions and keep the focus on the positives.

Here’s a comparison with before-and-after photos:

Does this need an explanation? We have three crock pots. Okay, hold on. We use two at a time several times per year so don’t go saying one. Still no need for three unless one of our kids sets up in a big house. We have outdoor plants that would take up have a full size moving van. A buyer would see clutter not nature. 3/4ths would need to go regardless. And the personal items. Navajo rugs, antique nautical prints of Cape Cod, etc. Buyers don’t want that and most cannot see past them. We would have no place to hang them all wherever we go so why not lose them now? And I ashamed to admit the two car garage won’t even take one at the moment. That doesn’t sell houses and not 20% would qualify for the move anyway.

Get staged and get a head start on the move.

The staging in this house looks superb! Great idea to depersonalize the house, so buyers can put themselves into the house. Versus feeling like it belongs to someone else. You want to sell it in their mind, before you can sell it in their wallet!

When it comes to going through the stuff, you can’t start too early!
