This same model further up the same street that backed to the canyon just sold for $1,100,000 cash in January (linked here) , yet no takers for this one at $899,900:

I notice that one could fix the stair and put in an elevator given the open space around the staircase, or simply put in a straight staircase, as an alternative. What are the door widths to the bathrooms? That would be one thing to look at in the downstairs room.

Why not a fan in the bedroom? Nice air circulation and a steady whir to help you sleep!

Haha, JtR, I guess I’m too picky:
1- The view of the power lines totally turned me off.
2- The massive square footage. Just another McMansion.
3- The “Rotary Club” master bath.
4- The two facing 2-car garages.
PS The fountains were ridiculously ugly too!

I like places like that with a few idiocincrecies because you can get a great place to live for a nice price. You gotta either sell em in a strong market or fix em before listing though.

For a house with that kind of asking price (pretty high) for La Costa area it’d better have some unique attractive features. This one is a little too generic, typical McMansion. Adding the power line issue and the general REO vibe in and around the house the listing agent got a tough one. But hey like JtR often reminds his viewers, nothing that money can’t fix (lowering the price in this case).

The one up the street got great canyon view and had the lived in feel to it which this one doesn’t have.

Aren’t most aging baby boomers looking to downsize? (4225 sq ft)?

    What’s the neighborhood?

By the way, those are Roman gods and get those things out of there! Don’t forget to put that taco bell table on Craigslist for $40 while you’re at it.

Between being too big, with a bad chopped-up plan and the tacky entry before you even get in the house, it’s gonna take someone with either vision, or, no clue to make the purchase. But it will sell, patience.

Haha, now I’ve seen everything. Coins in the travertine?

Takes balls to do something like that!
