We have known Jim & Donna Klinge for over a dozen years, having met them in Carlsbad where our children went to the same school. As long time North County residents, it was a no- brainer for us to have the Klinges be our eyes and ears for San Diego real estate in general and North County in particular. As my military career caused our family to move all over the country and overseas to Asia, Europe and the Pacific, we trusted Jim and Donna to help keep our house in Carlsbad rented with reliable and respectful tenants for over 10 years.
Naturally, when the time came to sell our beloved Carlsbad home to pursue a rural lifestyle in retirement out of California, we could think of no better team to represent us than Jim and Donna. They immediately went to work to update our house built in 2004 to current-day standards and trends — in 2 short months they transformed it into a literal modern-day masterpiece. We trusted their judgement implicitly and followed 100% of their recommended changes. When our house finally came on the market, there was a blizzard of serious interest, we had multiple offers by the third day and it sold in just 5 days after a frenzied bidding war for 20% above our asking price! The investment we made in upgrades recommended by Jim and Donna yielded a 4-fold return, in the process setting a new high water mark for a house sold in our community.
In our view, there are no better real estate professionals in all of San Diego than Jim and Donna Klinge. Buying or selling, you must run and beg Jim and Donna Klinge to represent you! Our family will never forget Jim, Donna, and their whole team at Compass — we are forever grateful to them.
The national media is taking full advantage of the first quarter slow down to do as much as possible to paint a declining RE picture.
I still say 90% of the slowdown was weather related.
We were looking at a place yesterday and there were two parties trying to make an offer at the same time to the listing agent.
It was funny they were almost trying pushing each other out of the way.
I can’t remember a better winter in terms of weather for SoCal and yet sales volume was down about 15% YoY in SoCal. Lack of quality well priced. inventory sure. Weather issues 0%. Don’t believe the media hype machine using weather as an excuse. Weather happens in winter every year.
No one ever comes from out of state to buy homes in California ?
JtR: Please thank Kayla for not sitting in “my” Eames’ lounger. Over Kayla’s right shoulder, in the video, are 2 LCW (Eames) chairs, as well.
Great turnout, but in my opinion your 140-count turnout speaks less about the “health” of the market and more about the lack of inventory options.
Maybe they got sidetracked in Colorado, sampling recreational pharmaceuticals.
LOL
If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times, Jim, offer keyboard insurance! Your staging comments and the plants you showed at the beginning of the video demand it.
I went to an open house on Saturday. It was near a Parade of Homes entry here that I had seen right before. I walked in; the agent in the kitchen was chattering away on her cell phone. I stood there awkwardly and then looked at the entire home (alone). I came back to the kitchen, looked at it, looked at her, and she continued to chat away never even looking up. I left chuckling: “She needs lessons from JtR!”
And thanks for your comments about single-stories. I think that holds true in many, many markets. I’m thrilled I have a single-story. Remember the voice over you did on the video of my house in January, 2010? Values are significantly rising here with very limited inventory. I bought at the perfect time– after the crash & nabbed a 4% 30-year fixed. Couldn’t have done it without your stellar advice, Jim…
