Snippets of things happening around town. There’s a guy in here who could use your help – if you can do anything for him, he’d probably appreciate it:

    That is a total bummer for that guy who lost his house to fire. I assume the house must of been paid off so he wasn’t required to have it? I heard building permits can take forever and cost a lot after a fire in s cal. Any truth to that?

    Anyone else notice home insurance rates constantly going up?

    No insurance? That wasn’t too smart… At this point he probably should just sell the lot and buy himself a condo, or a townhouse. Seems like he was living alone.

    If you have a house on a brush line, then it can be difficult/impossible to get insurance. I have a few neighbors dealing with that right now, their insurance company canceled their home insurance because they are directly on a brush line. All of them have not been able to find a company willing to insure them yet, and are a bit nervous about it.

    I’m on the other side of the street from the brush line and when I needed to find insurance I had to call about 14 companies to find one that would insure me.
