I don’t know the exact location of the new tract coming soon, but it will be a gated community off RSF Farms Rd.

    $2,450 a month to “rent” a 1 bed!?!?! HAHAHAHAHA!

    Wow!

That’s MORE than we’re paying to rent a 3/2 HOUSE in PQ! Including 2 car garage, big backyard and NOT sharing ANY walls with neighbors!

The new “normal”? LOL! No, I think it’s the “temporary” insanity. 🙂

Hundreds of million+ dollar homes, where the heck are all of these people getting this money to afford the cost of living in these overpriced stucco shacks? I would like to be a member of that club too! 🙂

Who knows, maybe I would “qualify” for one of these homes too, but I just don’t want to stretch myself that thin! 🙂

Well, the temporary insanity sure has lasted a long time – and it appears to be contagious.

Realtors don’t have to convince buyers year after year – once you buy a house, you go on with life. Every year it’s a new group of buyers, and they are confronted with the same choice – these are the choices, do you want to pay the price or not? Enough say yes!

There has been a renewed value of owning a house, and a deflated value of money. Good time for that!

IT and government jobs. Did you know you can leave one government job after a certain number of years, then take another one, and get double your pension?
If you’re getting 200K a year or more in pension benefits at age 65, until you die, as well as social security, you can afford 3K a month rent, no problem. Every city has a crapload of government workers with unions. That’s who live in those luxury apartments down the street from City Hall.

Down the street where I live (LA), a small 3 bed 1 bath cottage built in the 1930’s and not renovated is for rent for $4K a month. I expect it will be rented soon.

BTW, can’t remember if I mentioned but Obama has upped the amount Section 8er’s will receive starting around now. The deal is if you live in a crappy area, Obama will cut your section 8 grant unless you move to a nicer, better area, then he’ll pick up the difference. This will up the rents significantly in middle-class and better areas that choose to participate. Section 8 pays near the top of the market now, so expect rents to increase.
