The “homeowners” intention by suing Countrywide isn’t to win the case. It’s to drag out the free rent as long as possible.
A mortgage = 2k per month
Lawyer fees = 1-2k upfront and can delay the foreclosure process 6 months or more.
Throw in a bankruptcy and sprinkle with a loan mod attempt and you’ve got over 2 years of free rent.

Ordinarily, a logical deduction. Except the owners don’t live there – however, they are presumably skimming some rent from someone. So perhaps you may have something. On the other hand, based on Jim’s previous characterizations of said individual, I still think she’s crackers! 🙂
